How Much Time Should You Spend On Marketing Your Blog Every Week?

I heard a comment once about a blog that was not making any money. It went like this….

Is your blog getting traffic all day long?

A blog with no traffic is like building a great restaurant, with a great menu, in the middle of a forest where no one can find it, and then wondering why they do not have any customers.

That makes sense doesn’t it?

Agreeing with that statement and then doing something about it everyday are 2 completely different things.

Do you know what the typical blogger does?

They write and post, write and post, and write and post, until frustration slows them down until they give up and quit.

What is wrong here?

Simply put they have a blog in the middle of a forest where no one can find it. With billions of pages on the world wide web, getting noticed takes a lot of promotion.

Even in a micro niche you may have millions of competing pages and blogs.

The solution?

Spend 90% of your time on marketing after you make a blog post. You are better off to write one high quality article of 1000 words, publish it on your blog on Monday, and then spend the next 6 days marketing.

If you were to really focus on marketing in 1 year you would have a high quality blog of 52 posts with backlinks coming from all over the Internet.

Doing that is much better then having 250 low quality short articles that no one except yourself reads!
