A lot of us find ourselves working from home these days, and for retirees, that can be a big adjustment. It can be difficult to stay motivated when there’s no one around to give you structure or feedback. But there are a few things you can do to make the transition easier.
First, set yourself a regular schedule and stick to it as much as possible. That means getting up at the same time every day, taking breaks at the same time, and stopping work at a reasonable hour.
Second, try to create a dedicated workspace in your home, even if it’s just a corner of the kitchen table. Having a designated area for work will help you focus and stay productive.
Finally, make an effort to socialize and connect with other people, even if you can’t do it in person. Whether it’s joining an online book club or attending a virtual yoga class, social interaction will help you stay sharp and motivated.
Working from home can be a challenge, but with a little planning and effort, it doesn’t have to be overwhelming.
